Well if you have not heard yet Disney will be closing Pleasure Island on September 27th. This has bin my place of work now for over 8 years now. I refer to all the cast in admissions salaried and hourly alike as my kids. The thought of losing them saddens me on a level I don't want to get into right now. I have met so many wonderful people working there and will always have a place in my heart for the island.
Before you ask what will happen to my kids and I, we don't know yet. Downtown Disney Admissions covers PI, Disney Quest box office, Parking, Cirque box office, and Cirque ushers. They will need to do a restructuring of DTD Admissions as PI is a good number of the cast. For the ones that we can not fit at one of the other locations Disney will find them a position somewhere on property. The bartenders, servers, barbacks, and actors will have a much harder time finding equivalent work.Current Mood: disappointed Current Music: The Meteors - King Vlad

I got up on my soap box about voting. I have some strong opinions about it and they are not mainstream, but then again when have I ever the mainstream cloud what I perceive to be true. I urge you all to take a look at it, and think about that as you make your choice. Remember seeing a different point of view is always a good thing. If you don't believe me ask someone who lost one eye, how much harder it is to tell distance and size.

you are darkslateblue #483D8B | Your dominant hue is blue, making you a good friend who people love and trust. You're good in social situations and want to fit in. Just be careful not to compromise who you are to make them happy.
Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it.
Your outlook on life can be bright or dark, depending on the situation. You are flexible and see things objectively.

Moving Mom.

So I am back from a trip to Gainesville. I was helping Mom move more stuff down to Orlando. If you did not know Mom is selling the house in Gainesville and moving in with my older brother down this way. My uncle Carlos and my grandmother Mamitita stopped by to help for a little bit. I the past they mostly watched and would tell us that we where doing it wrong as Shane thankfully reminded me. So as soon as they got there we explained that we had to leave in x number of hours and started giving them tasks to do. It worked very well I don’t think they new what hit them. They spent as much time fighting as helping. It seemed if Carlos was doing one thing and Mamitita was doing something different they would start arguing. I had to step in and tell them they where doing different things and on more then one occasion told them that they dint let me act like that when I was a kid Then I am not letting them act that way now. It dint help long but it made me feel better. I wish mom would have heard that I think she would have gotten a kick out of that. I am positive my dad and granddad got a chuckle looking down on us. It hurts to see the house go. We moved in when I was in kindergarten from about 3 miles away. I miss the big yards with old growth trees, the patches of woods that I would trail ride though as a kid up until the day moved away to Tampa. Wile trying to pack up stuff at the house I found myself looking out the windows and seeing a time laps of the house and yard. Dad had cleared a field in the woods out back so we could play baseball/soccer. That was gone now about half of the woods back there are now homes. Some of the trees that we would climb are still there.
I don’t know what was more exhausting packing the stuff or the memories.

Be like water

“Nothing in the world is as soft and yielding as water. Yet for dissolving the hard and inflexible, nothing can surpass it.
The soft overcomes the hard; the gentle overcomes the rigid. Everyone knows this is true, but few can put it into practice.”
Be like water. Water fits into any container and fills it completely; it is content to fill any shape or roll that it is presented with. Water carved the grand canon and pounded stone to sand; it finds that path of least resistance yet leaves its mark on all it touches. Life springs forth from water and water sustains it. Be like water.

So I was trolling though Thottbot looking for tips on a quest for WOW came across a post with this in the tag line

You're Les Miserables!
by Victor Hugo
One of the best known people in your community, you have become something of a phenomenon. People have sung about you, danced in your honor, created all manner of art in your name. And yet your story is one of failure and despair, with a few brief exceptions. A hopeless romantic, you'll never stop hoping that more good will come from your failings than is ever possible. Beware detectives and prison guards bearing vendettas.

| » The Tao tells us. |
The supreme good is like water, which nourishes all things without trying to. It is content with the low places that people disdain. Thus it is like the Tao. In dwelling, live close to the ground. In thinking, keep to the simple. In conflict, be fair and generous. In governing, don’t try to control. In work, do what you enjoy. In family life, be complexly present.
When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.

| » Unknown man on the lose |
So yesterday security was scourering Disney Quest trying to find some guy. At 9:20 am cameras caught someone letting in a man though a backstage cast entrance. The man was described as a heavy set man, bald, with lots of tattoos, wearing black pants and tank top, sunglasses, and carrying a metal briefcase.
They found me at about 9:45, a lone Disney security confronted we and then looked sheepishly afraid of me until I started to laugh. He then told me I should at least show my Disney ID to the camera if I am not going to swipe it to get in the door so that we don’t have this problem any more.
